     We are here to Serve our Community, Protect our Neighbors, and have the sense of satisfaction and fulfillment of knowing that we are doing something special, something that everybody dreams of but few people do.


     To become a volunteer fire fighter, one must find out if there is a volunteer fire department in the response area.

     Then you must find out the requirements for that department.




NVFD requires the following:

   Attend training

    Must live within the Neches response area.

    Must be at least 18 years of age.

    Be able to lift and carry heavy objects of up to 100 lbs.

    Be in good physical condition.

    Be willing to get up in the middle of the night to HELP ANYONE if needed.

    Posses a valid drivers license, with no major violations on your driving record.

    Must be available to make our monthly meetings.


NVFD provides the following:

    The necessary training for fire fighting.

    All equipment necessary for fire fighting.

    Fire fighter and/or EMT certifications.

    Camaraderie and skills necessary to work in a team environment.
